The Big Kansas Coil is a 3d printed, lightweight, portable base loaded vertical coil.  Manufactured out of engineering grade Glass and Carbon Fiber filled Nylon material, it stands up to heat, weather, and rugged portable use without any problems.  It is made with 16ga stainless steel wire wrapped around the coil body and allows you to go from 6m all the way to 80m, with a telescoping whip, in a coil less than 6.5” tall and under 14oz! 

Using the scale on the front, it easily allows you to record band settings and go back time and time again without having to count clicks over the coil or measurements.  Adjustment is made via the quick change tuning clip, this allows you to short out the coil to change how much is engaged.  It is easily adjustable with finger tabs then securely stays in place. 

The genuine Amphenol RF SO-239 connector mounted on the front allows easy use of coax right to the coil, no adapters needed. 

A plated solid brass thumb screw on the side allows for radial connections or a spot to clamp a Mueller clip or other spring clip for easy connections!  

This is a great POTA/SOTA/EmComm antenna with the compact size and ability to tune all the HF bands in such a lightweight package! 

Big Kansas Coil uses standard 3/8-24 threads on the whip and base connections to be compatible with virtually all industry products for whips, tripods & spikes.  Due to being a small operation, at this time we are only offering the coil and tripod bases for sale.  Whips can be procured from any number of vendors such as DX Engineering or Amazon.  In the future we'll evaluate carrying our own whips.  

Power usage is rated at a conservative 100w digital, 50% duty cycle with a SWR under 1.5:1.
